đ Weekend Club Summary
A weekend of sunshine, frozen pitches, big wins, near misses, heroic defending, and enough chaos to fill a season review. The Womenâs 1s delivered a commanding 3â0 victory through sharp finishing and flowing teamwork, while the Womenâs 2s produced their most dominant performance of the year with a 6â0 away win. The 3s were forced to postpone due to frost.
On the menâs side, the 1s somehow turned total domination into a 0â0 âbatteringâ, the 2s battled to a gritty 2â1 win away at Northern, the 3s fought hard on Runcornâs sandy beach-pitch, and the 4s showed huge character in a narrow 2â0 loss despite a depleted squad. Across the club, effort, humour, and resilience were everywhere.
WOMENâS TEAMS
Womenâs 1 â Win (3â0)
Eirias dominated from start to finish after the pitch thawed just in time. Slick passing and great interplay set the tone, with Sophie spinning beautifully to make it 1â0 at halfâtime. The pressure continued as Charlotte hammered home from a penalty corner before Steph finished off a lovely move with Ella to secure a deserved 3â0 victory. MOTM: Fflur DOTD: Libby Goals: Steph, Charlotte, Sophie
Womenâs 2 â Win (6â0)
A long trip to Formby turned into a statement performance as the 2s delivered their most cohesive showing of the season. With wave after wave of attacks, a âHannahâtrickâ of four goals led the charge alongside strikes from Sophie M and Ella P. The defence â and goalkeeper â had almost nothing to do as the team cruised to another strong win and stayed top of the league. MOTM: Ella DOTD: Hannah Goals: Hannah (4), Ella, Sophie
Womenâs 3 â Postponed
Frozen pitch. No game this week.
MENâS TEAMS
Menâs 1 â Draw (0â0)
A wild one. Eirias completely dominated Clitheroe & Blackburn with relentless attacking, 20 short corners, and over 100 shots⌠but somehow no goals. From disallowed finishes to comedy moments (a StrictlyâComeâD spin from Cal and a green card for Ash), it was one of the most convincing 0â0 results imaginable. A first clean sheet of the season and plenty of positives despite the frustration. MOTM: Lewis Sanford DOTD: Anthony Card: Ash (Green)
Menâs 2 â Win (2â1)
The 2s continued their promotion push with a hardâearned away win. Early pressure led to multiple short corners before Freddie calmly finished for 1â0. Luke doubled the lead with a slowâmotion roller that somehow crept in. Northern pushed back in the second half, scoring late, but Eirias held firm thanks to strong defending and sharp goalkeeping. MOTM: Freddie DOTD: Luke Goals: Freddie, Luke
Menâs 3 â Loss (0â6)
On Runcornâs sandpit of a pitch, the 3s dug deep despite the conditions. With limited subs and a match filled with ruleâinterpretation chaos, the team worked tirelessly across the pitch. Strong defensive graft, big saves from Rob, and relentless work from midfield and attack showed real heart even as the scoreline stretched. MOTM: Mark W
Menâs 4 â Loss (0â2)
A battling display from a young, developing squad who showed organisation, grit and no shortage of determination. Northop scored via a debated penalty flick and a late firstâhalf scrappy chance, but Eirias responded with long spells of pressure and excellent defensive discipline. Leo was outstanding in goal, and Johnnyâs allâaction display earned him POTM. POTM: Johnny
