Welcome to the Clwb Hoci Eirias Weekly. 

The new season is now well underway, with our teams enjoying a positive start across the club. There were encouraging performances throughout the weekend, including league wins, strong debuts for new and younger players stepping up a level, and plenty of goals across both the men's and women's sections. Most importantly, the club spirit was on show everywhere, with players supporting teams across the squad to ensure everyone got their season underway.

The ladies enjoyed an excellent opening weekend. The Women’s 1st team began their campaign in style with a convincing 4-0 victory away at Fylde. The Women’s 2nd team marked their promotion with a composed 2-0 win over Oxton, improving throughout the game before goals from Charlotte Williams and Rachel Faragher secured the points. The Women’s 3rd team completed a clean sweep for the ladies, coming from behind to defeat Bebington 3-2 in an energetic and determined performance, highlighting the talent and potential within a young developing squad.

The men's section also made a strong start, recording victories in the 1st and 2nd teams. The Men’s 1st team opened with a 3-1 win over West Derby, while the Men’s 2nd team overcame Formby 3-1 thanks to a brace from Luke Hogwood and a goal from Alex Starling. The Men’s 3rd team battled hard but were beaten 4-0 away at Runcorn, with the match overshadowed by an injury to Mark Hogan, who was taken to hospital and is recovering well. The Men’s 4th/Development team, despite travelling with a heavily depleted squad, showed great character to fight back from 3-0 down before eventually losing 6-2 at Runcorn, with goals from Finn Shannon and Gethin.
